Choose a Convenient Delivery Date
Before completing your order, you can select a delivery date that works best for you.
98% of our orders arrive on the chosen day, but occasionally unforeseen issues may cause delays.
For this reason, we advise not arranging your tiler or tradespeople until your tiles have been delivered safely.
How Your Order Is Delivered
Most orders are shipped on a wooden pallet. For safety, deliveries are made to the nearest kerbside to your property — this is standard for pallet services.
Drivers may sometimes move the pallet onto a driveway or garage, but this is entirely at their discretion and cannot be guaranteed.
Smaller orders may be shipped as parcels and delivered by couriers such as DPD or FedEx.
Delivery Times and ETAs
Deliveries take place between 8am and 6pm on your selected day.
Please ensure someone is available at home until the delivery has arrived.
A small number of deliveries may not have ETA tracking available yet.
If delivery is failed due to nobody being home, additional charges may be applied.
Receiving Your Delivery
An adult must be present to accept the delivery.
They will need to:
- Check for any tile damage.
- Confirm all items have been delivered.
- Sign for the delivery.
- Move the boxes into the property.
If you notice or suspect any damage, please follow the instructions below.
Damages
We prepare all orders to extremely high standards to minimise transit damage. Tiles are secured to pallets with premium shrink wrap, ensuring safe transport.
All items leave our warehouse in perfect condition, but occasional damage can occur during the delivery process.
Damage is usually obvious — for example, the pallet may have been struck or pierced by an object.
If you spot any damage, please:
- Write DAMAGED on the delivery note
- Take clear photos of all damaged tiles
- Email us the details, photos of damages and delivery note to info@tilestaruk.com (see damages page for more info)
Once we receive your email and photos, we’ll arrange free replacements. Replacements cannot be sent until all required information has been submitted.
We recommend keeping damaged tiles — your tiler may still be able to use them.
Unloading Your Order
Once the driver arrives, they will lower your pallet to the ground using a tail lift and move it to a safe, flat kerbside location using a pallet trolley.
Delivery drivers must follow strict health and safety rules, which means they cannot:
- Open the pallet
- Carry boxes into your home
- Deliver up steep slopes, gravel driveways or uneven surfaces
If you’re unsure whether your address is suitable for kerbside delivery, please contact us so we can advise you.
Moving Your Order
After signing for the pallet, you’ll need to move the tiles inside. Use a Stanley knife or similar blade to cut the shrink wrap and access the boxes.
Tile boxes are heavy — some can weigh up to 30kg — so we recommend asking a friend, family member or tradesperson for help.
Access Issues
If there are any local access problems such as narrow roads, construction works, or closures, please inform us in advance. This allows us to make alternative delivery arrangements if needed.
Additional charges may apply if a smaller vehicle or re-delivery is required — we will always discuss this with you beforehand.
You can leave this information in the Delivery Notes box in your basket before checkout.
